The PCL Printer driver Page Setup Tab provides users with an intuitive interface showing an exact configuration of the imageRUNNER 330/400 to which they are connected. In addition, this main driver window provides users with the ability to directly link from the device icon to select imageRUNNER 330/400 finishing, cassette selection, and page composition options pclpagesetup.gif - 30296 Bytes Other functionality incorporated in the Network Printer Interface PCL driver include the ability to select Watermark functionality, output size and orientation, and the ability to place up to 16 total pages on one sheet. In addition, as depicted in the screen capture, all imageRUNNER 330/400 PCL Drivers offer the ability to send output to the printer itself or one of 100 confidential user mailboxes (provided the Image Server is equipped with 64MB of RAM or more). Also, users are offered the ability to save numerous driver profiles, allowing common print driver configuration settings to be recalled easily.


Finishing capability is also available via Canon's Network Printer Board PCL Drivers. The PCL driver screen capture demonstrates the functions that are available for finishing. These vary depending on the imageRUNNER 330/400 finishing option selected, but range from single position stapling to booklet making. plcfinishing.gif - 26526 Bytes As shown in the screen capture, the imageRUNNER 330/400 delivers the most robust finishing capabilities in the marketplace today in an easy to use manner. In addition to providing clear selections, all finishing selections are depicted in the page icon on the left of the screen shot, ensuring users get the output they expect.


One of the more important functions within Canon PCL Printer Drivers is the ability to select multiple paper sources when printing one job. This is especially true when considering the type of output supported by the imageRUNNER 330/400. pclpapersource.gif - 26920 Bytes With the ability to print on multiple media types for varying applications it is essential that end user's have significant flexibility when pulling paper. As such, the Canon PCL driver for the imageRUNNER 330/400 permits users to pull from a total of four paper sources, making even the most complex jobs simple.
The imageRUNNER 330/400 PCL driver extends previous GP PCL driver functionality by allowing for significant selections effecting output quality. plcquality.gif - 15684 Bytes Including in this is the ability to change output halftone settings, optimize driver output for text, graphics, or both, as well as the ability to select differing output styles consistent with the type of document being printed.
One of the unique functions of Canon's PCL Printer Drivers is our Automatic Configuration capability. Using this function, end users need not know any of the configuration parameters of the imageRUNNER 330/400 to which they are attached. Through Automatic Configuration, Canon's driver software will automatically interrogate imageRUNNER 330/400 devices over the network, bringing back information to the users desktop inclusive of the following:

Installed hardware options

Installed function boards

Paper Cassettes

Paper Size and Orientation within the Cassettes Available Paper Supply in each Cassette

Toner Status

Automatic Configuration is supported on networks running TCP/IP and IPX protocol stacks, and allows users to automatically select devices based upon their TCP/IP or IPX network address.
